Bird of Paradise /Strelitzia reginaeе/ called also “paradise bird” is the most interesting flower that grows among all blooming sorts. The combination between orange and blue colors of the flower and of course its original form, look like not only a bird, but paradise bird of Paradisaea minor species.
The plant origin is from the humid tropical woods of South Africa. It is brought to Europe in XVIII century as a part of a shipment with tropical sorts, intended for the botanical garden of King George III. The plant is named to his wife, Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.

Most of us know that Holland is the home country of the tulip. In fact, it was brought to Holland from Persia, and the real home country of the flower Tulip /Tulipa speciesiseis Turkey. Tulip comes from the word turban, and it is because the flower helmet is in a milar shape.
